Elephant Moon Music is an independent music project releasing original work as digital singles and on vinyl. The music has a distinct mood and character, and it needed a visual identity that could carry that feeling from a streaming thumbnail all the way to a 12-inch sleeve.
Independent artists live or die by consistency. Every release, post and page is a chance to be recognised, and without a clear visual language each one starts from zero.
Music artwork has to work at wildly different scales. A single's cover is mostly seen at thumbnail size on a phone; a vinyl sleeve is held, turned over and kept on a shelf. The challenge was to build a system strong enough to be instantly recognisable at 60 pixels, with enough depth and detail to reward someone holding the record in their hands.
"Each release should feel like its own moment, and still unmistakably part of the same story."
The scope covered the full artist identity: a logo and visual language, a website to act as home base for releases and news, and print design for each single and the vinyl release. Everything needed to connect, so that a listener moving from a streaming platform to the website to a physical record would feel they were in the same world throughout.
A logo, typography and colour palette built around the mood of the music: distinctive, flexible, and easy to recognise across every platform.
A website that works as the artist's home base: releases, listening links and news in one place, designed to extend the identity rather than just hold it.
Cover artwork for each single, designed as a series: every release has its own character while sharing a clear visual thread.
Sleeve, label and inner artwork for the vinyl release, prepared for print with the detail and finish a physical record deserves.

Elephant Moon Music now has a visual identity as considered as the music itself. Each new single arrives looking like part of a body of work, and the vinyl gives the project a physical presence listeners can hold and keep.
With the system in place, future releases start from a strong foundation rather than a blank page.
